You think you are a failure as a mom. You’ll never be good enough. You might as well give up now.
Do you ever hear the enemy whisper these lies in your ear?
Your kids are out of control - wild, impulsive and disobedient
The school says you kid is not performing as well as he/ she should be.
Other parents look at you out of the corner of their eye and whisper criticism.
Your kid is intentionally left out of playdates or is not chosen for teams / activities.
Other people’s kids can sit quietly through church without climbing under and over the pews.
Other people’s kids can get good grades and not get into fights.
Other people’s kids know how to play nicely and make friends.
Your kids are not good enough.
You are not good enough.
You are alone.
Alone.
Are you depressed yet?
I am.
Wow! That pattern of thought really sucks.
You know why? Because it’s a truckload of LIES!
Moms of kids with ADHD, I need you to hear me on this loud and clear:
YOU ARE NOT ALONE and YOU ARE ENOUGH BY THE GRACE OF GOD.
It is so easy to believe the lies.
The evidence stands there glaring at you, but what can you do?
In this post I want to share with you some truths from God’s word that you NEED to claim whenever the enemy starts to whisper those lies in your ear.
Truth #1: You are NOT a Failure as a Mom Because You Were Chosen for this.
John 15:16-17
“You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last—and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you. 17 This is my command: Love each other.”
God chose you to be the parent of your child.
He entrusted that tender little heart and mind to your care.
He appointed you to “bear fruit that will last” for His Kingdom.
What does that mean?
God believes that you can pull this off and successfully.
He knows that you are capable of “training up your child in the way he / she should go so that when he is old he will not depart from it.” Proverbs 22:6
BONUS: He doesn’t expect you to do it alone. He’s given you the tools and support you need. We’ll talk more about this in a minute.
Truth #2: You are NOT a Failure as a Mom Because You are Specially Designed for the Job.
Psalm 139: 13-17
13 For you created my inmost being;
you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful,
I know that full well.
15 My frame was not hidden from you
when I was made in the secret place,
when I was woven together in the depths of the earth.
16 Your eyes saw my unformed body;
all the days ordained for me were written in your book
before one of them came to be.
17 How precious to me are your thoughts,[a] God!
How vast is the sum of them!
18 Were I to count them,
they would outnumber the grains of sand—
when I awake, I am still with you.
God created every single teeny tiny detail of your being.
He knows all about you.
He knows your strengths.
He knows your weaknesses.
He knows what you are capable of because he made you.
You can be a good parent to your child because you already have access to everything you need:
A powerful love for your child that no one else can imagine.
A unique understanding and communication with your child that no one else has.
A bond that will withstand anything that comes against it.
A faith that sustains you.
A God that loves you both.
You, my friend, are well equipped for this task. That doesn’t mean it will be easy, but it will be possible.
Truth #3: You are NOT a Failure as a Mom Because You are Not in this Alone.
Isaiah 41:10
So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
Jeremiah 29:11
For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
Psalm 37:24
though he may stumble, he will not fall, for the LORD upholds him with his hand.
Joshua 1:9
Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.
Mark 10:27
Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but not with God; all things are possible with God.”
Galatians 6:9
Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.

1To you, Lord, I call;
you are my Rock,

For if you remain silent,
I will be like those who go down to the pit.
2 Hear my cry for mercy

as I lift up my hands
toward your Most Holy Place.
6 Praise be to the Lord,
